Dating Abuse Stops DASH (Dating Abuse Stops Here) was founded by Andy and Lynne Russell after their 19-year-old daughter, Siobhan, was murdered by her ex-boyfriend in 2009.
Raise awareness in our community of the magnitude, proliferation and dangers of teen dating abuse; Educate and encourage teens to engage in healthy relationship behavior; Help teens, and parents, to recognize and act upon warning signs; Provide resources to identify places of help for teens in distress, or in potentially dangerous dating situations.
DASH website, however, is the chief source of information, and has a viewing audience from over 40 countries worldwide.
DASH was launched on 16th October 2010 in memory of Siobhan Louise Russell, who would have turned 21 that day if she had not been murdered by her ex-boyfriend when she was just 19.
DASH representatives have numerous speaking engagements at local schools, universities, community events and clubs such as The Rotary, and The Optimist Club.
In December 2010 Lynne Russell, DASH Founder, was invited to a White House Roundtable meeting to address the issue of Teen Dating and Sexual Violence.
